How We Collect Information

We collect information through the following means:

  • Registration and profile forms — when you sign up or update your account details.
  • Payment flows — transaction metadata (not card data) is returned to us by the payment processor after a successful transaction.
  • Automatic collection — Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics on every page visit, which sets cookies and collects usage data as described in the Cookies section.
  • Live chat and WhatsApp — when you initiate a support conversation, your messages and contact details are received and retained.
  • Email correspondence — messages you send to support@chequepot.com.
  • Platform activity — when you are logged in, we may record platform interactions (e.g., cheques created, reports exported) for service delivery and security purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

  • Account management — to create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
  • Service delivery — to operate the cheque printing and management features you have subscribed to.
  • Payment processing — to verify and record subscription transactions in conjunction with our payment processors.
  • Customer support — to respond to your queries, troubleshoot issues, and process refund requests.
  • Service communications — to send account confirmations, subscription renewal reminders, and critical service notices.
  • Analytics and improvement — to understand how users navigate the site and to improve features and performance using aggregated, anonymised data from Google Analytics.
  • Security and fraud prevention — to detect and prevent unauthorized access, misuse, and other harmful activity.
  • Legal compliance — to meet obligations under applicable Indian law.

We will not use your personal data for unsolicited marketing without your prior consent. If we introduce any marketing communications in future, you will be given a clear and easy way to opt out.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Essential Session Cookies. ChequePot uses session cookies solely to keep you logged in while you use the Service. These cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Without them, you cannot stay signed in to your account. There is no way to opt out of essential session cookies while using the Service.

Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics. We use Google Tag Manager to manage tracking scripts on our website. Through it, we load Google Analytics, which places cookies on your device to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the website — such as which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and general geographic location (country level). This data helps us understand and improve the Service. Google Analytics data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Live Chat Tool. Our embedded live chat widget may set cookies or collect session data in order to provide chat functionality. Please refer to the privacy policy of the specific chat provider for details of their data practices.

No Advertising Cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or behavioural profiling purposes. We have not enabled Google AdSense or any other advertising network on our website.

Managing Cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to your account. Most browsers allow you to block third-party cookies (such as those set by Google Analytics) without affecting essential functionality.

  • User-deleted content: Any data you delete within the platform (cheques, payees, records) is permanently deleted immediately. We do not maintain backup copies of data deleted by users.
  • Support communications: Records of your support correspondence are retained for a reasonable period to facilitate customer service and dispute resolution.
  • Transaction records: Basic transaction metadata (amounts, dates, reference IDs) may be retained for a period necessary to meet legal and accounting obligations.
  • Backup availability: We do not maintain real-time or guaranteed backups of your data at all times. Any backups we hold may be 30–60 days old. We do not guarantee the availability of the most recent backup and can only restore the most recent backup that was successfully synchronized. We recommend that you export and retain your own copies of any data you consider critical.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes — those that significantly affect how we collect or use your data — we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users via email or an in-site notice before the change takes effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
