How to Create Cheque Layout

Before creating Layout, go to Layout > Show All from left navigation. This will show all default layouts. Search for the layout that you are going to create. If you find matching layout already created then you can use it as is otherwise you can duplicate it and apply your changes. Click “Duplicate” button to duplicate selected layout, this will create a new layout with all settings duplicated. Apply changes and click “Save Layout” to save.

Go to Layout > Add New from left navigation. This will open “Add Cheque Layout” page. Follow the steps below:

  1. Select Bank and enter Layout name to refer this new layout.
  2. Measure width and height of cheque (in mm) and enter them at “Cheque size”
    • Most Indian Bank cheques are CTS complient which has FIXED dimensions, i.e ~202 ~93 (in mm)
    • If you are not sure about this, kindly measure dimension and set them at “Cheque size”
  3. (Optional step). Scan your cheque and upload scanned image from “Upload Cheque Image” block. After upload, a popup will be shown where you can crop uploaded cheque image (if you want) otherwise click “No, Thanks” button. This step is optional but highly recommanded as you can quickly and accuratly adjust cheque particulars referencing image instead measuring top and left positions for all particulars.
  4. Drag elements to adjust according to your cheque layout. Double click on elements to set Font, Size and Color. Refer How to set Font, Size and Color article for this. Font and Size settings are mostly used for setting dates in boxes. Refer How to Adjust Date and Date Format article for this.
  5. You can add/remove cheque particulars from “Add/Remove Particulars” block. In this block, you can set different date formats and can select “A/C Payee” display styles like “Crossed-Fix” and “Manual Adjust”.
    • Crossed-Fix: This setting will add an image to top left corner with fixed “AC PAYEE” text. This text can not be changed.
    • Manual Adjust: This setting will add a text (Ac Pay) which you can move/drag to your desired location. You can change this fixed text from Settings page. Refer General Settings for this.
    • Bearer: You can change this fixed text from Settings page. Refer General Settings for this.
    • Extra lines: Extra lines particulars are optional, used for extra information that you want to print on cheque. Contents of “Extra lines” can be set while you are creating Cheque Books. You can remove them if you don’t want any extra content to be shown on cheque. Refer How Extra Lines are Used for this.
  6. After confirming all these information are correct, click “Save Layout” button. Now you can see this layout is listed in the grid. Click “Edit” to edit any cheque layout.
